The United Nations International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) has set up a Methane Alert Response System (MARS) to support governments and businesses to reduce their methane emissions as promised under the Methane Pledge.
SRON is one of the core partners of MARS. It will support mitigation efforts by using TROPOMI satellite data to find methane hot spots around the world and to help guide the high-resolution satellites that provide facility-level emissions.
