Location Groningen & Utrecht
The 45 persons in the Instrument Science Group (ISG) develop novel detectors and detection techniques, creates space - and earth research instrumentation based on these techniques, validates and calibrates the instruments, on ground and in space. Throughout this process the instrument scientists work closely together with the SRON and international engineering experts, with industries and institutes worldwide.
My task as group manager is to ensure the SRON projects get the people required, with skills matching the nature of the project. Strategic skill development is performed by analyzing the technology required for future international space projects, and steer the group towards these by hiring, setting up internal courses or cooperate with partner institutes.
