As a scientist at the Earth programme at SRON, I am involved in a variety of remote sensing studies of the climate. My main responsibilities are to deliver accurate and validated CO2 and CH4 retrieval products from the GOSAT satellite for the Copernicus C3S project as well as deliver CH4 retrieval products for the CAMS project in near-real time (within 2 days of measurement typically). In addition I am involved in scientific studies using these data on CO2 and CH4 sources and sinks and supervise bachelor and master students on research projects. From 2015, I am a member of the works council of SRON which advises the SRON directorate about important decisions
